August 14th 2003 is not a day I will forget quickly. I was to fly in a Hunter with the world's most experienced Hunter pilot, Brian Grant. A perfect day, CAVOK, and an understandable amount of trepidation saw a 90 Hour PPL have a couple of hours training on the ejector seat and safety procedures etc. then we were off to roam Devon. The flight was to be a cross country sortie past my home town of Dawlish which was in preparation for the days airshow ( me first by en route as it happened - hoorah), then towards the end, if I was feeling OK and happy, Brian would do a couple of aerobatics manouvres over Eaglescott.

I can only say that the whole morning from briefing , suit on and brakes off to final ( far too soon ) return to Exeter was absolutely fanatastic, ( especially the loops ) such power and a great feeling of pride. I will do this again, as will herself , whose ride place I took at short notice.
I can recommend a Hunter flight to anyone, you wont be disappointed, just look at my face in the photos...! |
